At 11am on the morning of May 22, the religious ceremony will take place at Madrid's striking Almudena Cathedral. Here the bride and groom will make spectacular entrances – separately – after crossing the Patio de la Armeria, which links the palace to the religious edifice.
Prince Felipe will enter first on the arm of his mother, Queen Sofia, 15 minutes before the beginning of the nuptials. Letizia, who will be accompanied by her father, Jesus Ortiz, will then walk down the aisle towards her groom at the altar.
