The royal limousine will take the couple to the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Atocha, the same church where King Alfonso XII wed Maria de las Mercedes de Borbon y Orleans in 1878. There, in line with royal tradition, Letizia will offer her bridal bouquet to a statue of the Virgen de Atocha.
Meanwhile, invitees will gather at the Royal Palace near the Almudena Cathedral to enjoy a reception as they await the newlyweds. The bridal party will return to have their photos taken inside the palace – as well as make the requisite balcony appearance – before reuniting with their guests for a banquet in the historic building's Patio del Principe.
