THE CEREMONY – The Guildhall / page 2
Although there are no special plans to decorate the Guildhall – Charles and Camilla have asked that their marriage involve no extra cost to council taxpayers – the bride and groom will be surrounded by the grand hall's historic décor. The intimate Ascot room, which has been widely reported to be the chosen location, features stained glass windows dating from 1886, antique tapestries and Royal portraits, including a likeness of Queen Victoria.
Locals are confident the Guildhall, where 141 unions were celebrated last year, will provide the Prince and his bride with a day to remember. "I don't think the couple will be disappointed with their choice," said Mayor Emrys Richards. And with Charles and Camilla making history at the 300-year-old town hall, the venue is surely to become a popular choice for newlyweds the world over.
