Albert's brooch

Queen Victoria was given this beautiful brooch by her husband, Prince Albert, in 1840. A large sapphire surrounded by 12 diamonds, it is still known as Albert's brooch. The Prince Regent also had copies made for each of his daughters and when, over a century later, one of these copies came on the market, Queen Elizabeth bought it for her daughter Anne.
