'PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN' -
St Vincent and the Grenadines
For most people, spending time in paradise doesn't come cheap. But if you happen to be Johnny Depp you can expect to receive a substantial paycheque for hanging out in one of the world's most beautiful places. The hunky heart-throb received $10 million for his role in Pirates Of The Caribbean, which was filmed in the tropical utopia of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
In reality, the 32-island archipelago is blissfully free of sword-wielding buccaneers, meaning visitors can enjoy its spectacular beaches without fear. The islands of Mustique and Mayreau make the perfect destination for anyone in search of a deserted tropical beach where they can put all their energy into doing as little as possible.
But should a visitor suddenly find herself gripped by the desire to expend some energy, there are lots of wondrous sights to be taken in. The majestic cliffs on the Atlantic side of the main island of St Vincent are a must-see, while the Baleine Falls are equally impressive.
The most popular sight here, however, is the teeming kaleidoscope of colourful tropical fish which live on the islands' coral reef. It's well-worth investing in a mask and snorkel, or even hiring some scuba gear, if you ever get the chance to visit the "jewels of the Caribbean".
