Glaciers, Greenland
There is never a dull moment on this six-day wintry outing to the vast white wilderness that is Greenland. You’ll go on safari to spot the shaggy musk ox – a rare and endangered
species – and should see reindeer and
arctic foxes.
With luck, you’ll also catch the heavenly spectacle that is the aurora borealis, or Northern Lights. The tour also features glaciers, including an awesome drive along the
inland ice cap. And, to cap it all, you
can sleep in an igloo and enjoy a
cocktail at the ice-bar. Skol!
Ice Driving, Sweden
Wannabe Jensen Buttons can test their mettle on ice-driving breaks in Sweden’s far north.
Under expert guidance, you can become an Easy Rider on a snowmobile, head off into the
wilds with a dog team and learn the skills of ice-driving on a frozen lake in a car and go-cart.
Home base is the Baltic city of Lulea, but each day you’ll transfer to the Wilderness camp,
where your challenges await. On a 60km snowmobile trail you’ll enjoy lunch by an open fire,
learn survival tips, take a walk in snow shoes and try ice-fishing. You may even catch your dinner!
