Hole up in your own villa or suite either on
the hillside or on stilts over the sea. Each is
decorated in traditional Asian style and comes
with an oversized tub and secret courtyard. If
you really want to push the boat out, book the
Pavarotti Suite (the maestro loves the hotel) and
let the tenor’s operatic strains drift out over the tropical breezes from your music centre as you
float in the pool. “I almost cried when I saw how
beautiful God has made this paradise,” Pavarotti
said when he sang at the hotel opening in 1994.
The award-winning spa draws on four
cultures – Malay, Thai, Chinese and Indian
– and there are seven restaurants to choose from.
For something really special, enjoy a dinner
for two on the rocks or in your own teak
boat. Who knows? It could be the icing on
the (wedding) cake…
