Treat yourself at a designer label hotel

From Victorio & Lucchino to Ralph Lauren, from Mariscal to Bulgari: if you're looking for a hotel with original architecture and style that's true to the philosophy of its designer, a product of the imagination of its creator, here we offer you a selection of exclusive hotels with the unmistakable signature of prestigious names.

'z_Silken-Gran-Hotel'

Puerta America (Madrid)
Under one roof, two dozen state-of-the-art architects and designers have given full rein to their imagination. The result is this exclusive hotel, a benchmark for a new type of traveller. Situated opposite the White Towers in Madrid, one of the most charismatic works of Oiza Saenz, the views are spectacular. Behind the impressive facade by Jean Nouvel, the true show is to be found in the interior: the lobby is the work of John Pawson, Christian Liaigre has added a touch of timelessness to the Lagrimas Negras - "Black Tears" - restaurant, and the Italian Teresa Sapey is responsible for the stunning garage space. The real treasure, however, lies in the rooms, spread across twelve floors, each of which is signed by a prestigious artist: Victorio & Lucchino, Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel, Arata Isozaki...

Camper (Barcelona and Berlin)
The Camper philosophy, that luxury lies in simplicity, discretion, authenticity, healthy living and fine aesthetics is well expressed by these two hotels belonging to the Camper label, at the forefront of the footwear industry. One is on the edge of the Raval district in Barcelona, the other in Mitte, the historic centre of the city of Berlin. What they have in common is their interiors, featuring the latest in design, relaxing spaces and a commitment to ecological values. The spirit and brand values are reflected in all the rooms and facilities.

Miro Hotel (Bilbao)
Like a ship conveniently anchored in the lee of the Guggenheim Museum, this avant-garde boutique hotel designed by the Catalan designer Antonio Miro is typified by minimalist, functional and modern style. Great care has been taken with the decor, with fifty exquisite Zen-inspired rooms designed as versatile spaces. The hotel also boasts spa, gym and massage services.

Gran Hotel Domine (Bilbao)
Also alongside the Guggenheim we find the glass facade of this five star luxury hotel. Its design is the work of renowned artists Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas. The colourful interior houses a selection of furniture representing the most emblematic of twentieth-century design. The atrium, home to the 26-metre high Mariscal sculpture, the Cypress Fossil, stretches the entire height of the building, from the floor right up to the skylight that crowns the terrace. Functionality and aesthetics are brought together in the rooms distributed over the building's five storeys and offering magnificent views of the world famous museum. The hotel restaurant, Beltz the Black is well worth a visit.

Round Hill (Jamaica)
This exclusive resort located on a paradise beach of Montego Bay bears the hallmark of American designer Ralph Lauren. It consists of a number of luxurious rooms in an eighteenth-century house and 27 beachfront villas located on a nearby hill and surrounded by tropical gardens. The decor of the suites - some of which have private pools - feature the Ralph Lauren Home Collection in shades of blue and white, a perfect complement to the Caribbean Sea just outside the doors.

Maison Moschino (Milan)
The hotel doors are not yet open to the public, but we already know some of the secrets in store at this original hotel in Milan's upmarket Corso Como district. The philosophy of the Moschino label is reflected in the surreal decor created by Rossella Jardini, assistant to the late Franco Moschino and creative director of the label since his death. Among the 69 spectacular rooms, the Petals Suite is truly outstanding. The hotel also has a fine restaurant that opens onto the garden, as well as a gym and spa.

Bulgari (Milan and Bali)
To say Bulgari is to conjure an atmosphere of glamour, which is just what the Italian jewelry company has achieved with the two hotels that carry the label: one on the paradise island of Bali and the other in Milan. Balinese tradition is interwoven with contemporary Italian design in the 59 villas that comprise the first, an exclusive resort with spa nestled on a stunning cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The Milan hotel is located in a refurbished eighteenth-century monastery, set in one of the city's most sumptuous quadrants; it has become a benchmark for integrated design: white walls, black lacquered furniture, hamman with gilt mosaics, English oak floors, meditation corners, bathtubs carved from blocks of Turkish stone...

And if you want more, here are a few pointers:

In Paris, Du Petit Moulin and Bellechasse bear the signature of Christian Lacroix one of the most revered of French designers.  In Australia and in Dubai, Palazzo Versace. Two more in Dubai: the eponymous Tiger Woods Resort, designed for Woods by Lebanese designer Elie Saab and Giorgio Armani's  Armani Hotel & Resort. In Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, Turtle Bay, the luxury resort designed by Oscar de la Renta. And in Berlin, housed in a charming mansion, the interior of the Schlosshotel, is signed by the king of fashion, Karl Lagerfeld.
