Where to find the tennis stars during Wimbledon

26 JUNE 2013

When the last serve has been drawn and game, set and match has been called for the day at Wimbledon, the spectators – as well as the tennis stars themselves – head out for a drink and a bite to eat.

While you take a break from Centre Court during the oldest tennis tournament in the world, make sure it's in one of the favourite spots of tennis greats such as Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer...

Cambio de Tercio, South Kensington

Rafa Nadal has said of this spectacular Spanish restaurant: "I love this restaurant... I always go...when I'm in London."

True to his word, the tennis player shared a snap on Twitter of him smiling at the restaurant on 20 June with a dessert in the form of a tennis ball. Rafa, 27, wrote: "Who wants to taste?"

San Lorenzo Fuoriporta, Wimbledon Hill Road

With wonderful traditional Italian food and a classy setting it's no wonder this restaurant is a favourite with celebrities and has been feeding some of the world's greatest tennis players since 1969... "No other restaurant has felt like this to me," said Boris Becker of the top joint. The night before the tennis great won Wimbledon at just 17 years old, he ate steak at this restaurant. Andre Agassi went to the restaurant on the eve of winning Wimbledon.

Nobu, Berkley Street, Mayfair

Andy Murray is said to have eaten up to 50 pieces of sushi in one sitting at Nobu, one of London's most fashionable restaurants. He's not the only tennis star to stop off at the famous Japanese eaterie – many other tennis players including Daniela Hantuchova, Ana Ivanovic and Laura Robson are also regulars at Nobu.

Zuma, Knightsbridge

Maria Sharapova reportedly loves the sophisticated Zuma restaurant for its tasty Japanese food.

Fire Stables, Wimbledon Village

Tucked away from the main hub of Wimbledon village, the Fire Stables offers traditional English pub food and real ale to those seeking shade after an afternoon of tennis... just what players and spectators need to round off the perfect day out in Wimbledon.

Halepi, Bayswater

Run by a Greek family, this authentic restaurant offers yummy dishes with quality produce, including fish brought in from Cornwall on a daily basis and Aberdeen Angus Grass Fed Beef. Venus Williams has said that she loves the hummus at this Greek restaurant.

Cote restaurant, Wimbledon Village, Earls Court

A modern take on a Parisian bistro, this lovely little find offers classic French dishes such as steak with frites, moules marinières and corn fed chicken from the heart of rural Brittany. Italian tennis player Francesca Schiavone has dined in Cote restaurant, Wimbledon Village.
