La Torre del Visco overlooks a hidden valley and an olive grove

Three nights and four days will give you plenty of time for a full introduction to the Mediterranean world of olive oil culture, complete with guided walks around the extensive organic farm and the chance to get up close to the sculptural beauty of century-old olive trees as well as recent, younger plantations.

You'll experience practical demonstrations of harvesting methods followed by a wonderful al fresco lunch in the olive groves with freshly baked bread, grilled local meats, delicious sheep and goat's cheeses accompanied, of course, by local wine and the farm's own olives.

The luxury boutique hotel offers a cookery course, olive oil tasting and an open kitchen

A true foodie experience, holidayers participate in an olive oil tasting session led by an expert producer and take part in two half-day cookery sessions in the homely open kitchen with the hotel's renowned chefs, preparing delicious recipes based on olive oil and other outstanding local ingredients that form the heart of the naturally healthy and authentic Mediterranean diet.

Not that you'd want to leave this restored XVth estate house, a stay here comes with a visit to an organic oil press and a nearby olive oil museum where the machinery from the 18th century to the present day is preserved in working order.

A three-night stay also includes olive harvesting

After the day's activities, guests are welcome to sit by one of the many open fires with a glass of fine wine from the hotel's 15th century wine cellar or gather in the kitchen to watch dinner being prepared by the in-house chefs.

Prices start from 795 Euros per person for a 3-night stay with full board, trips, tastings, cookery course, documentation and tax included.

Dates for the unique olive experience: 26-28 October and 27-29 November 2014. Minimum number of course participants: 4.
