Andaz Liverpool Street has teamed up with Veuve Cliquot to create an artistic interpretation of what it would feel like to jump into a glass of bubbly and the installation is open to the public on a complimentary basis in the lobby of the hotel until beginning of May. So whether you’re visiting the area or pass by regularly, we dare you to resist interacting with the balloon-like yellow bubbles.

Avant-garde designers Harvey & John’s ‘Dive into a Glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne’ installation is the first thing visitors see when they grace five-star London boutique hotel’s lobby.

The multi-sensory light installation reflected off a wall of mirrors creates the illusion of effervescent champagne bubbles, using 25 giant glowing spheres filled with high pressure air. Responding to its audience at the feel of a touch, the five floating and 20 suspended bubbles shine brighter and radiate a glowing Veuve Cliquot yellow in colour when poked, squeezed or hugged.

While there, why not sample the tasty sharing platters at Andaz’s Catch Champagne Bar & Lounge with friends. We recommend the Prawns in kataifi, aubergine and chilli and Somerset brie and rosemary fondue to get the taste buds going.

And after enjoying a night between the luxury sheets and firm mattress, treat yourself with a buffet break costing £24 at the 1901 restaurant. With a selection of hot English breakfast items plus cold continental bites available, you won’t be disappointed.1901 Wine Bar hosts their next installation from 28 May until 30 June as part of Bompas & Parr’s new project, the British Menu Archive. It collates the most spectacular collection of British menus that celebrates the ever-changing landscape of British culinary culture and history.

If you’re after a night at the Andaz, rates are available from £330 including VAT per night on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday night) and £180 including VAT per night on weekends (Friday & Saturday) in an Andaz Queen room. Considering that price includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a non-alcoholic minibar and local landline phone calls, we think it’s rather reasonable.

Ranging in size from 50-80cm in diameter, the eye-catching bubbles are a cool champagne colour until touched and can float up to an impressive three metres in height, creating the perfect photo opportunity for friendly Assistant Front Office Manager Alex Cohen to capture us in.
