It seems all too rare that you hear of childhood sweethearts marrying these days. But Laura Rybij and Paul Spencer proved it still happens.

After first meeting when they were both just eight years old, the couple undoubtedly have a lot of history together.

The two were separated aged 14 when Paul had to move away with his parents.

And it wasn't until 2004 that they were reunited again, quickly striking up a relationship.

The relationship rapidly progressed into a marriage proposal and on August 29, 2009, the couple tied the knot in North Devon.

The service, held at Holy Trinity Church in Burrington, was followed by a reception at the lovely Northcote Manor, Umberleigh.

After moving to Devon four years ago from Derbyshire, the pair have developed a strong affinity for the sea and decided to incorporate the theme into the wedding.

The ceremony featured seashells in the flowers, shell and seagull table decorations, and beach-themed wedding stationery.
