Intimate Italian nuptials for the happy couple

18 JULY 2012

Laura Jane Evans and Paul Clive Winterflood married in Sorrento, Italy on April 19, 2012.

Their wedding took place in the stunning cloisters of an 8th century Sorrento monastery. Their daughter, Angelica Megan, 4, was bridesmaid.

The ceremony and vows were said in both Italian and English and the romantic mood was set with a mandolin player in the background.

It was a family gathering with just Paul, Laura and Angelica attending the ceremony so luckily help was on hand for Laura's dress from their wedding planner.

She wore a strapless gown made by Helen Thomas-Powell in Newport, South Wales. Daughter Angelica had a miniature version of her mum's dress but with a powder blue sash to match her dad's tie.

Their wedding attracted lots of attention from tourists who shared the couple's happiness, clapping when they were announced husband and wife.

After the ceremony, the family of three returned to the hotel for an evening meal and champagne.

They described their adorable daughter Angelica as "the star of the show" – locals named her "Bella" – "beautiful" in English.

The newly-weds returned home to Newport having enjoyed "the best day ever".
