Paramount+'s neo-Western drama, Yellowstone, is reportedly set to end after the second half of season five, according to a new report from The New York Post.
The news comes amidst claims that the show's star, Kevin Costner, won't return following a dispute with creator Taylor Sheridan.
Rumors of Kevin's departure have been circulating the internet for weeks during what appears to be a tumultuous time on set, as well as the cast's sudden absence from a PaleyFest LA appearance early in April.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, one of Kevin's co-stars hinted at his potential exit. Dawn Olivieri, who played Claire Dutton on spinoff 1883 – starring Faith Hill and Tim McGraw – gave an ominous statement.
"Sometimes we have to own the fact that nothing is forever," she warned, adding: "And impermanence is the single thing we can count on, and that life is like that."

The new report comes just weeks after Keith Cox, president of development and production at Paramount Network, addressed Kevin's role on the series while speaking at a Yellowstone panel.
"What I can say is our star, the face of our show and the executive producer, are very confident he's going to continue with our show," he told the audience.
While Yellowstone might be coming to an end, fans can look forward to a new spin-off series starring Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey.
Yellowstone showrunner Taylor Sheridan and Paramount boss Chris McCarthy confirmed via the Hollywood Reporter that Matthew is leading the cast. According to the publication, negotiations were ongoing at the beginning of 2023 before a deal was formally struck and confirmed more recently.
The spin-off is just one of ten projects that Paramount boss Chris is working on alongside Yellowstone's Taylor, so there could be plenty more Yellowstone content to come.
It's also been confirmed that the Matthew McConaughey-fronted series will go ahead regardless of the future of season five and Kevin's time on the show.
