On board a gold-coloured British Airways plane, named The Firefly, the Olympic flame finally touched down on British soil on Friday ahead of the 2012 Games.
David Beckham used it to light a cauldron after the aircraft, also carrying Princess Anne and Locog chair Lord Coe, arrived at a Cornish air base.
"It's been a incredible week to be with the team and bring the flame home. It's a very proud moment for everyone," said David.
The torch will visit the four nations of the UK before being taken to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford on 27 July for the opening ceremony of the Games.
Onlookers could be forgiven for imagining that the dazzling brunette sashaying along before a phalanx of photographers was a supermodel or movie actress, such was her air of confidence.
