The mother of The Progues band member Shane MacGowan had sadly died in a car accident. According to police, Therese MacGowan was driving in Silvermines, County Tipperary in the Republic of Ireland on Sunday when the car she was driving hit a wall. Theresa, who was in her late eighties, was declared dead at the scene, and there were no passengers in the car at the time. The tweets appeared on George's former lover's Twitter account in the early hours of Sunday, relating to the singer's death and the circumstances surrounding it. The celebrity hairstylist has since told the Mirror that he did not post the tweets himself, saying: "I am shocked with what's going on with the Twitter thing. My Twitter account has been hacked and closed. It's a bit scary to be honest. I did not send those tweets. I woke up at 11.30am to the news.
