• Prince George set to make debut at first ever royal engagement

    Prince George is set to make an appearance at his first ever public engagement on Wednesday as the royal tour kicks off to a flying start. In what will be the first of many more public acts to come as the third-in-line to the throne, the eight-month-old will accompany his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton to a parent and baby group at Government House, the home of the Governor-General in Wellington, New Zealand.   • The Queen welcomes Irish President for historic visit

    Irish President Michael D Higgins has made an historic visit to the UK, where he was met by the British royal family including Queen Elizabeth II. This is the first visit by an Irish head of state to the UK, and follows a 2011 trip in which the Queen became the first monarch to visit the Republic of Ireland.     Anne Hathaway has revealed her favourite royal is the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, because she makes her happy. Having starred as a princess herself in The Princess Diaries, Oscar winner Anne was asked by a six-year-old fan who her favourite princess was. Anne first told the little girl that she was her favourite princess before adding: "My favourite princess is Kate Middleton, but she's a duchess. She's a princess too, right?
