And now a special exhibition at Buckingham Palace will focus in on a few hundred of those mementos. The Royal Gifts exhibition will form part of this year's Summer Opening of the State Rooms at the palace, from July to October. More than 250 objects from 100 countries and territories will be displayed, including gifts given during state visits, overseas tours and official engagements. The custom of receiving and giving gifts is a symbol of goodwill between two countries.
