Golden girls take wedding day style and sparkle to the red carpet

Every girl dreams of a wedding day look that is filled with elegance and glamour, and the dresses of the Golden Globes 2013 certainly provided enough bewitching charm to be worthy of any bride.

Newlywed star Anne Hathaway, who married actor Adam Schulman in October last year, shone on the red carpet in a winter-white Chanel couture gown after sporting a less-traditional, but fabulous, pink-hued Valentino number for her own big day.

The 30-year-old actress transformed her former Princess Diaries look with a smart, sophisticated chop that she adopted for her movie role in Les Miserables which recently won her the award for Best Supporting Actress at the evening's ceremony.

Having lost weight to play her impoverished character, Fantine, Anne's dress, featuring a sleek strapless neckline, flattered her slim physique adding balance with an on-trend peplum waistline.

And of course the Golden Globes wouldn't be the same without a touch of sparkle.

British actress Michelle Dockery demonstrates to brides all over the country how a spot of metallic on your wedding day can look incredibly demure.

Wearing a high-neck Alexandre Vauthier dress, the fair-skinned 30-year-old looked radiant in its woven-gold bodice and soft silk skirt which delicately skimmed over the feminine curves of the Downton Abbey star.

Also working the form-fitting trend was Megan Fox, who was as sultry as ever in a nude Dolce & Gabbana dress, of which she said: "It’s tight and lacy. That's all there is to it."

But the actress also revealed that it is her husband Austin Green who chooses her red carpet looks, saying: "He picks my dresses most of the time because I trust his opinion more than anyone."

We're impressed with Austin's taste – his choice of gown shows off Megan's curves perfectly – and think it would make a perfect bridal gown
