Elizabeth Olsen and her fiancé Boyd Holbrook have split. The pair had been together for three years when they decided to call time on their relationship, Us Weekly reports. The news of their break-up comes after Elizabeth, 25, was spotted walking around a farmers' market in Los Angeles last week, sans her engagement ring. The younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who is two years their junior, had not been photographed for a few months but looked casual and relaxed as she chatted on the phone and spent the day out with her friends.

Her appearance came just a few weeks after an insider spotted Boyd, 33, at the CAA Pre-Golden Globes party, without his love of three years. At one point the Gone Girl actor was said to be deep in conversation with a woman who resembled the Olsen beauty. Elizabeth and Boyd first started dating in September 2012 after they met on the set of Very Good Girls. They immediately hit it off, with sources adding that there was "great chemistry" between the pair. The couple's engagement was announced in March of last year – a few weeks after Elizabeth's older sister Mary-Kate got engaged to her French banker boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy.

"I just told her she gets to pick a date first!" Elizabeth told Marie Claire UK at the time, about which sibling would walk down the aisle first. Opening up about her wedding plans, Elizabeth added: "I'm relaxed about it, but I am excited and planning ideas because it's fun. It's just like throwing a party to celebrate life. I love being in a relationship a lot."

Around the time of their engagement, Elizabeth and Boyd had just moved in to their Brooklyn home. The American beauty was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, California, and admitted that she and her famous sisters did lead a "charmed life". "Because my sisters were so grounded, it helped me be grounded," she said. "They never got caught up in things. I did live a charmed life."
