Earlier this week HELLO! magazine published the exclusive wedding album of Catherine Tyldesley and Tom Pitfield's special day. More photos have been released online, giving fans a closer look at the star-studded wedding.

The Coronation Street actress couldn't have done it without some of her closest friends, who helped out in small and big ways on the day.

Her co-star Antony Cotton acted as one of the bridesmen, and had the job of guiding Catherine and Tom's son Alfie down the aisle before his mum.

The other bridesman was Catherine's best friend Peter Eccleston, who carried the groom's niece, flower girl, Penny Pitfield down the aisle.

Antony and Peter, an art department buyer on Corrie, brought extra glamour to the occasion with their sequined jackets. "As Cath's bridesmen we wanted something special that would show the showbiz side of our personalities," Peter told HELLO!

The most important outfit of the day was, of course, Catherine's stunning bespoke Philip Armstrong wedding gown. "I went to every dress fitting," said Peter. "And a few days before the big day, I picked it up from Philip's studio."

Antony, interjecting with a smile, said how he wouldn't allow Peter to touch the delicate lace creation. "He can be a little, shall we say, clumsy," said Antony. "There was no way I was letting him near it. So I zipped Cath in – that was my official role."

Another photo released from the celebrations show the bride and groom posing with their talented wedding singer Jennie Sawdon. Jennie serenaded the couple as they arrived at the reception.

Guests sipped on prosecco before sitting down for the wedding meal at tables named after Coronation Street landmarks, including Rovers Return and Roy's Rolls. Catherine and Tom took their seats at the top table, The Cobbles, with their son Alfie's highchair taking pride of place.

Coronation Street stars on the guest list included Jane Danson, Samia Ghadie, Brooke Vincent, Jennie McAlpine, Ryan Thomas, Jack P Shepherd and Shayne Ward, who performed a very special song, Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle, at the personal request of the bride. The song is about a father's love for his little girl who is about to get married.
