When Christopher Eccleston left the hit sci-fi programme Dr Who, he apparently took the title character's leather jacket-and-jeans look with him.

Stepping into Dr Who's shoes for the first time, actor David Tennant has unveiled a whole new "geek chic" image for the legendary Time Lord, complete with pinstriped suit and long brown overcoat.

"I think we've come up with something distinctive that's both timeless and modern, with a bit of geek chic and of course, a dash of the Time Lord," says David, the tenth actor to play Dr Who.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the popular show has a very special fan at Buckingham Palace.

The Queen has reportedly requested a full DVD set of the latest series so she can watch it over her summer holiday at Balmoral. The monarch is said to have been a follower of the show since the original was launched more than 40 years ago.
