Jade Goody is recovering in hospital following a successful hour-long operation on Monday evening during which surgeons discovered the cancer has spread to her brain.
As she bravely faces the challenges of coping with a terminal condition, the reality star's children, five-year-old Bobby and Freddie, four, are very much in her thoughts.
While they are currently staying with their dad as Jade is determined to save them from the pain and confusion of seeing her so poorly, she continues to make plans to secure their future. Existing media deals have assured their financial wellbeing - and US talk show hosts Oprah Winfrey and Larry King are reportedly now offering half a million for an interview - while Jade, who wants to make sure she has their spiritual welfare covered, is planning a baptism service for this weekend.
The ailing TV personality has also come up with a personal reminder for the children. "I gave the boys some friendship bracelets," she recently revealed. "I told them they should never take them off, and if they're sad, missing their mum or upset, to rub them and think of me".
While news that the cancer has spread must have come as a blow, close friend Kevin Adams reveals Jade has kept her sense of humour throughout her ordeal. "You always have a good time, no matter what you are doing," he said. "There is constant banter with Jade".
Her publicist Max Clifford has also expressed admiration for the 27-year-old: "In terms of her spirit, she has been very brave and positive," he says.
In the same way she wants to look after her boys' future, the former Big Brother contestant has also turned her attention to her new husband Jack Tweed's circumstances, offering him her Essex home after her demise. Jack's declined it, however, explaining he would be "looking for her in every corner".
