Jade Goody's Essex home on the market for £1 million

20 APRIL 2009
The converted Essex barn owned by late reality TV star Jade Goody life is to be sold, with an asking price of £1 million.

Bought by the TV personality in 2007, the property has four bedrooms, two ensuite bathrooms and is surrounded by over an acre of land. Its asking price is £949,999 - nearly a quarter of a million pounds more than the £750,000 Jade paid for it.

The proceeds from the sale of the house - which Jade left to mum Jackiey and husband Jack Tweed – will be added to the trust fund set up for the 27-year-old's two sons, five-year-old Bobby and Freddy, four, who now live with their dad Jeff Brazier.

Described by one of two agents handling the sale as a "well-presented barn-style home in a semi-rural location" with "superb views from the rear over undulating countryside towards Epping Green", the house was where Jade and her family lived until the reality star passed away on Mother's Day.

"Everyone is delighted the house has been valued so highly," says a source close to the family. "It's brilliant for her sons. Jade knew they would be going to live at their dad Jeff's house. And Jackiey has no need of the property as she has always refused to move out of her council flat in south London."
