After four months cavorting on stage as the star of Las Vegas burlesque production Peepshow, Melanie Brown will be settling back into family life in Los Angeles with daughters, Phoenix Chi and Angel.

So the extrovert singer was understandably in the mood for some poolside fun and games as she toasted her final night in the desert city surrounded by bikini-clad lovelies, along with husband Stephen Belafonte.

The party at the MGM Grand hotel, once famous as a hangout for Frank Sinatra and his rat pack crew, also served as a belated birthday bash for the former Spice Girl, who turned 34 on May 29.

Full of high spirits at her big send-off, Mel B - looking fit and fabulous in a saucy two-piece featuring a red lipstick kiss pattern and matching stilettos - broke into into an impromptu dance as she was presented with a celebratory cake.

But her routine from now on won't just revolve round the school run and supervising homework. Sources say that the former Spice Girl is to start work on a movie, with "several big names".
