But a new relationship with footballer Frank Lampard means Christine and her fellow host are evidently just good friends – a point made clear as they larked around in the snow together this week.
Joining others making the most of Britain's recent flurry, Adrian, 42, wasted no time grabbing a snowball as he and Christine hit North London's Primrose Hill.
As for the Northern Ireland-born brunette, she not only managed to avoid any wayward snowballs, but also caught the attention of two male fans, who looked delighted with the chance to lend her a helping hand.
Meanwhile, the presenter's new relationship with Chelsea player Frank seems to be going well.
He spent part of the Christmas break with the 30-year-old in Northern Ireland – they were spotted visiting Pound Land – and it is thought Frank was introduced to her parents Frederick and Mina.
The pair have been keen to avoid being seen together since they were first linked in October, although last month Christine went along with pal Amanda Holden to watch him play football.
Speaking of the budding relationship, 38-year-old Amanda has said she predicts "big love" for the couple, adding: "Christine is good for Lamps because she is not impressed by a footballer's glitzy lifestyle."
"Before we watched Everton play Chelsea recently, Frank asked where she'd be sitting and Christine replied: 'I don't know, probably in the fancy seats.' Bless her."
For his part Adrian has laughed off reports of a crush on his co-star.
In an recent interview with a Croatian paper – Adrian is half Croatian – the 42-year-old said he wanted to meet a smart person with a sense of humour.
"I just want someone to take care of me," said Adrian, who divorced Jane Garvey in October. "Not necessarily a beautiful one as beautiful women are too complicated."
And referring specifically to Christine, he said speculation of a romance was wide of the mark because she was out of fhis league.
"It was like West Brom being linked with Ronaldo or something. Look at her, and look at me. West Brom might quite like to sign Ronaldo but it is simply not going to happen," he said.
