Stars descend on the French Riviera as the Cannes Film Festival gets set to start As the Cannes Film Festival gets ready to kick off on Wednesday, the stars have begun descending on the French Riviera.

Down the coast in glam Saint-Tropez, superstar designer Karl Lagerfeld hosted a presentation party for his short film Remember Now on Monday night.

And ahead of the screening of the movie, some of the A-list guests met up in the town's famous Place des Lices for a traditional game of boules.

Dressed in a Chanel skirt, black vest top and casual straw hat, actress Diane Kruger tried her hand at the French pastime, as did her hunky boyfriend Joshua Jackson.

But it was Johnny Depp's French partner Vanessa Paradis who seemed to be showing everyone how it was done, lifting her arms in triumph after making her play.

Other names at the fun bash included former Victoria's Secret model Karolina Kurkova, who stars in the movie, as well as Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall's 18-year-old daughter Georgia May.

Earlier in the day Back-up Plan actress Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony were out shopping together, visiting the town's Pucci boutique.

On Friday, the couple enjoyed a family day out in Nice where they took their two-year-old twins Emme and Max for a ride on the carousel in the Monaco Gardens.
