From rapping as Marky Mark and modelling underwear for Calvin Klein, to becoming an Oscar-nominee and a successful TV producer, Mark Wahlberg has had a long and diverse career in the entertainment business. But it is as a silver screen star that the actor is undoubtedly best known, and on Thursday Mark was honoured by his peers on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 39-year-old received a star – number 2414 - on the famous walkway in honour of his cinematic success. And there to support him was his family, wife Rhea Durham, and their four children, Ella, seven, Michael, four, 20-month-old Brendan and Grace, who is six-months-old.While Mark has had a number of memorable moments, not least his Academy Award nomination for The Departed in 2006, he said his family is his proudest achievement. Towards the end of his acceptance speech he brought his son Brendan up on stage with him. And the family man's face was wreathed in smiles as the little boy gave dad a helping hand adjusting his microphone."I'm so happy my kids are sitting through this," he said in his speech. "When I heard I was getting this star, I felt like it was a practical joke."As well as tender family moments, there was plenty of laughter at the celebrations courtesy of Mark's The Other Guys co-star, and friend, Will Ferrell."I'm glad to be here," the comedian said in his introduction, before pretending to confuse Mark with fellow action star Matt Damon. "I first became a fan of Mark's when I bought his workout video. And I love all your Bourne movies."On a more serious note, Will, 43, told the audience that the father-of-four was "not only one of the hardest-working guys, but a great family man and a great dude."
