There were some very special guests in the audience on X Factor USA as Michael Jackson's three children turned out to watch the show’s hopefuls pay tribute to their late father.
Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket sat proudly along with their grandmother Katherine as contestants performed a medley of the his greatest hits.
With emotions still running high following the sentencing of the doctor charged with manslaughter in the singer's death, Katherine was moved to tears by the performance.
The 81-year-old bit her lip and seemed overcome as Melanie Amaro cover the ballad, Earth Song.
Simon Cowell, who mentored the 19-year old, couldn’t hide his delight.
"I couldn't think of a better way to pay tribute to one of the greatest artists in the world," he said.
Backstage, the X Factor crew seemed thrilled to be meeting the king of pop's clan.
The children and their grandmother posed with Simon and fellow judge Paula Abdul – who later planted a big kiss on Katherine's cheek.
