A lot has changed for Avril Lavigne in the past 12 months. A year ago she was pictured at Kim Kardashian's wedding with her boyfriend Brody Jenner. Now the pop singer has announced she's getting hitched to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger after a whirlwind courtship.
A spokeswoman for Avril confirmed that the 27-year-old accepted Chad's proposal earlier this month after the pair had been dating for six months.Avril met Chad, 37, in February when they teamed up to co-write a song for the I'm With You singer's forthcoming album.It will be the first marriage for Chad and the second for Avril.She filed for divorce in 2009 from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley after three years of marriage. The Canadian singer-songwriter shot to fame with her 2002 album Let's Go.Chad has served as lead vocalist and guitarist for Nickelback since the band formed in 1995.
