With less than 24 hours to go until the Venice Festival throws open its doors, film stars from around the world are descending upon the historic city. Blonde bombshells Naomi Watts and Kate Hudson were were some of the first leading ladies to arrive by boat on the eve of the famous festival. Naomi is in town with her husband Liev Schreiber, who is promoting his new film The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

In it, Liev stars alongside Kate, whose husband, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, has yet to be spotted in the waterways of the Italian city.The Reluctant Fundamentalist has been chosen as the film to open the star-studded event this year.Also exepcted at the festival are Rachel McAdams, Ben Affleck and Javier Bardem, who will premiere their romantic drama To The Wonder.Younger starlets jetting in include Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens who will showcase comedy/drama Spring Breakers, which also stars James Franco.
