Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Facebook and Twitter to deny rumours linking him to a Portuguese TV presenter.
Cristiano, whose team Real Madrid won the Spanish Supercup on Wednesday, was speaking about a photograph, published by the Poruguese press of him with the presenter, along with claims that the two were flirting.
The 27-year-old, who has been in a relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk (pictured) since 2010, posted: "Here we are again... today false news were published about my vacation based on a picture that was taken some years ago in the US."
He added: "Unfortunately some press don't investigate their sources and go ahead publishing lies joining people that are not in the photo and confusing dates."
It was a rare move for the sportsman, who doesn't usually discuss his personal life.
The other notable time that Cristiano spoke out on his socal media sites was when he announced that he had become a father.
In July 2010, posted on Facebook: "It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy."
Christiano, who is in full custody of his son that shares the same name, has spoken about his experiences of parenthood with long-term girlfriend Irina.
