The sky's the limit for Adele's Bond theme as 'Skyfall' score sells for over £13,000

It sped to the top of the iTunes download chart in a matter of hours and there appears to be no stopping the success of Adele's new Bond theme.

Sitting amoungst other notable 007 memorabillia, Skyfall's orchestral score sold at the franchise's anniversary auction for £13,750.

Co-written with the man behind her Rolling in the Deep hit, Adele's score grabbed the attention of bidders at the auction held at Christie's on Friday.

Fans of the tune will keep an eagle-eye on whether it will be named the official UK number one, especially as previous Bond themes have failed to earn the title.

But given the success it has enjoyed so far, Adele's powerful new track could go where Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Jones and Madonna's songs did not.
