Troubled basketball star Lamar Odom has broken his silence to defend the Kardashian clan, calling them: "The ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time."
Khloé Kardashian's husband made the comments via Twitter on Tuesday. He spoke out after his father Joe Odom encouraged him to end his marriage amidst reports of substance abuse struggles, which Joe put down to his involvement with the famous family.
Setting the record straight, Lamar claimed his father hadn't called to check on him and wasn't there to raise him. "He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons," he wrote.
"My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me. For the first time since they left, came a blessing of a FAMILY that I married into. FAMILY."
The 33-year-old sportsman goes on to point out that his dad has never met his mother-in-law or the rest of the family, and calls him out for disrespecting them.
He describes them as "the only family that has loved me without expecting anything in return" and "the only ones that have been here consistently" for him "during this dark time".
Lamar describes his father, who himself struggled with heroin addiction, as "my downfall" and says: "His own demons may be the only thing he gave 2 me."
The star takes responsibility for his troubles, writing: "Only person 2 blame is myself. Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this!"
