Melanie Sykes and her husband Jack Cockings are reportedly undergoing a trial separation after she was arrested for assaulting him.
Model and presenter Melanie, 43, who has been married to 28-year-old roofer Jack for seven months, spent a night in a cell and was given a caution for common assault following an argument with him last week.
"What happened was obviously an indication that things weren't right," a source told The Mirror. "It's hard to see how they're going to make the marriage work."
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Melanie had been taken to a north London station from the £1 million Hampstead home she shares with Jack.
"We were called to a residential address in Hampstead at 9.45pm following reports of an assault," read a statement. "A woman, 43, was arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken to a police station.
"She has since been given a caution for common assault."
Melanie, who rose to fame after starring in an advert for Boddingtons beer in the '90s, met Jack on Twitter.
The couple began exchanging messages on the social media site and tied the knot months later.
Manchester-born Melanie was previously married to actor Daniel Caltagirone and the couple had two sons, Roman, ten, and eight-year-old Valentino, before going their separate ways in 2009.
