Since becoming a mum in October last year, Adele has chosen to stay away from the spotlight. She made a rare public appearance this week though, to receive an MBE for her services to the music industry.
The 25-year-old was given the honour by Prince Charles during an investiture service at Buckingham Palace. She smiled as she spent a few moments talking to the Prince after being awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Adele looked elegant for her Palace outing in a jacquard swing coat dress, her hair swept up into a beehive.
The honour is another 2013 accolade to add to the Golden Globe and Oscar statuette the star has on her mantelpiece.
Adele’s appearance comes a few weeks after she stepped out with her long-term partner Simon Konecki for an intimate Lady Gaga gig.
The notoriously private couple, parents to one-year-old son Angelo, couldn't have looked happier as they cuddled up at the event. They were happy to pose for photographs too, Simon lovingly embracing the mother of his child and planting a kiss on her cheek as Adele beamed for the camera.
