Steven made his international debut  for England at the 2000 European Championships, and has played for the team in every international championship since, alongside David Beckham and Frank Lampard.

He is the sixth player to ever win 100 caps for England and is number three of the list of top scorers for the country.

In 2012 he was named England captain and he will take a squad of players to Brazil this June to compete for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In 2007 Steven married Alex Gerrard, a HELLO! Online blogger, and the pair have three daughters.
