George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding certificate released as they head on honeymoon

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's official marriage certificate has been revealed.

Issued by the state office of the City of Venice, the 'Certificado di Matrimonio' confirms that George Timothy Clooney and Amal Ramzi Alamuddin are officially man and wife as of 29 September.

The contract also lists 53-year-old George and 36-year-old Amal's places of birth – Lexington, Kentucky and Beirut, Lebanon – respectively.

The release of George and Amal's marriage certificate came as they reportedly headed off on their honeymoon.

According to the Daily Mail, the newlyweds are in the Seychelles, staying at a "luxurious North Island resort, which is so private it can be accessed only by helicopter."

The newspaper also reports that the ultra-private location was suggested by George's close friend Brad Pitt, who has previously stayed at the romantic resort with Angelina Jolie.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, also spent their honeymoon on one of the idyllic Indian Ocean islands that make up the Seychelles.
