Lynda had been battling bowel cancer, and spoke about her brave decision over the summer to stop her chemotherapy treatment – one year after her initial diagnosis. Her husband Michael was sat in the audience, and was visibly moved by his wife's bravery.
The actress decided to end her treatment in August to limit her family's suffering, after the disease spread to her lungs and her liver.
She had hoped to spend one last Christmas with her loved ones.
