It was the phenomenon of the year – with the Queen even getting in on the act. Now "photobombing" has been chosen by the Collins English Dictionary as their Word of the Year.
The verb is described as "to intrude into the background of a photograph without the subject's knowledge". It beat the Great British Bake Off's buzzword "bakeoff" to the Word of the Year title.
