Emma Watson has spoken out once again for the equality of women at Facebook's London offices to mark International Women's Day. The UK Ambassador for Women also shared her anger at being targeted by a hoax website that threatened to publish nude photographs of her after she spoke up for women's rights in her poignant speech about feminism at the United Nations headquarters in New York in September.

"I knew it was a hoax, I knew the pictures didn't exist, but I think a lot of people that were close to me knew gender equality was an issue but didn't think it was that urgent, that it was a thing of the past. The Harry Potter star continued: "I was raging, it made me so angry, I was like, this is why I have to be doing this. If anything, if they were trying to put me off it, it did the opposite." The brunette beauty went on to speak about her solidarity movement for gender equality, HeForShe campaign, on the livestream hosted by Greg James: "Our society in general devalues the she, I mean the qualities that are associated with the feminine that are found in all of us," she said.

"There's this imbalance, this distortion that is just hindering our progress, it's causing discord, violence and fear the world over." She added: "We really need to support each other, we really do. So, I guess I would say be brave enough to acknowledge that things are not there yet and support each other."
Celebrities made themselves heard on International Women's Day by changing their social media profiles
Emma wasn't the only celebrity to be heard on International Women's Day. Celebrities including Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton, Karlie Kloss and Stella McCartney changed their profile pictures on social media to the default anonymous image to bring awareness to women's equality. Kourtney Kardashian also posted a picture with a strong and positive message: "Here's to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them."
