When you think of Jason Statham, Brit-flick crime movies, gangster characters and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley spring to mind, right? But before shooting to fame in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, the actor had a very different career.
In 1990 Jason, 48, competed as a diver in the Commonwealth Games in New Zealand. Footage from the competition has resurfaced on Reddit, and Jason is actually pretty good. Admittedly, he's probably not in Tom Daley's league – but that's why we get to enjoy him in movies like Fast & Furious and Spy these days.

Jason Statham was once a professional diver
Jason previously opened up about his little-known diving career, telling Katie Couric he was inspired to get involved after a family holiday to Miami with his parents.
He explained: "There was this guy who used to do a high dive, at noon every day, from one of the hotels we stayed in. And I went, 'You know what? When we get home, I'm gonna do that'."
Now he's a Hollywood star with a supermodel fiancée
And he gave it a good go, too. Jason made the British diving team less than a year after deciding to take up the sport professionally. However he never managed to fulfil his dream of diving for Great Britain in the Olympics.

But don't feel too bad for Jason. He went on to become one of our favourite actors, with a rumoured £30million in the bank and he's engaged to the gorgeous Rosie, which we're sure he's more than happy with.
