And this week, 1D fans went into a social media overdrive when they saw the hashtag "#CongratsLiam" trend on Twitter - which seemingly confirmed to them that the singer was going to be a father. The loyal Directioners were, however, wrong as other online users took to their accounts to congratulate Liam, 23, for signing a new solo record deal.

"#congratsliam I had i little heart attack because i thought this hashtag confirm that Liam will be a dad," wrote one Twitter user.
"That moment when you come on twitter, then you read #CongratsLiam and think @LiamPayne confirmed he's gonna be a dad," said another fan.
"When at first you thought this was trending bc Cheryl had announced she was pregnant #congratsliam," tweeted one follower.
Cheryl, 33, recently fuelled pregnancy rumours when she stepped out for a date night with One Direction singer Liam. The Girls Aloud star covered up for the date night at Nobu in a camel-coloured jumper dress and a matching coats – but fans were convinced they could spot a baby bump showing through her loose clothing.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, it was announced that the former X Factor judge's divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini will be finalised on Thursday. A source recently told The Sun On Sunday that Cheryl is "delighted" to finally leave the marriage behind her and move on with her new life.
