Tom Daley has revealed he knew almost immediately that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with fiancé Dustin Lance Black. In an interview with the Mirror, the Olympian confessed: "After the first week we'd been together, I just knew. And ever since then it's just felt like a waste of time not being married to Lance." The 22-year-old announced his engagement to the American screenwriter in October 2015, after more than two years together. The couple first got together in early 2013 - just a few months before Tom announced his sexuality via a YouTube video.

Divulging more information, Tom went on to reveal how he and Dustin discussed wedding plans within the first month of their relationship. When asked if he'd have seen himself getting married so young, he replied: "Not at all. If you’d have told me five years ago I'd have been, 'Pff, yeah, sure.' But it just felt right. Within the first month we'd talked about it." Discussing the impending nuptials, the sporting ace added: "It's all going well, we're looking at dates, but everything is staying under wraps at the moment. Who knows what it's going to be like, I haven’t been to a wedding since I was five, so I have no idea. We just want to do what we like. We'll just make it us."

Earlier this year, during an appearance on This Morning, Tom explained how the wedding preparations are in full swing. "I'm in the middle of planning all that with Lance and it's all been fun," he remarked. "It's a fun and exciting time… I'm really looking forward to this year actually." Although, the star also revealed that he has been busy preparing for Tokyo 2020. He added: "My mind is set on Tokyo. I've got another four years of training, six hours a day, six days a week for that one moment… and there's the World Championships this year in Budapest, so a busy year of competition and training, but hopefully… I'm looking forward to 2017."
