Christine Bleakley and Frank Lampard tied the knot in a fairytale wedding just before Christmas in 2015, but the TV presenter has revealed that she almost called it off the night before the nuptials. "There was nearly divorce before marriage, the night before our wedding," Christine, 38, recalled on Loose Women. Appearing on the show with her husband, Christine gave viewers proof of an outburst when Frank revealed that his wife had a temper on her. She joked that she was ready to call it quits on the eve of her wedding, when her then-fiancé Frank tested her limits.
"We had the table plans done on one of those sticky boards where you could move the names around," said Christine. "I was out working and I came back and Frank and indeed all of my family who were also to blame thought it was really funny to change all the names around on the seating plan. They'd all had a few beers having a great time, I'm stone cold sober. They thought it was funny." Frank interjected: "We put people together who hate each other." Christine went on: "I walk in and was like oh my god. Needless to say, if that is a raging temper…"
Christine Bleakley and Frank Lampard tied the knot in December 2015
After a four-year engagement, Frank, 38, and Christine said "I do" in December 2015. The romantic ceremony took place at Saint Paul's Church in Knightsbridge, central London. Christine wowed onlookers as she arrived at the church, wearing a breathtaking dress that featured intricate lace embroidery on the sleeves and corset, set off with pretty pearl embellishments. Guests included the likes of Frank's cousin Jamie Redknapp and his wife Louise, Chelsea star John Terry, and a range of screen stars including Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and his wife Stephanie Lowe.
The couple with Frank's two daughters Luna and Isla
Christine has often spoken about her desire to have children one day. Just last month, she revealed she "cannot wait" to become a mum because Frank is already such a "brilliant" father. The footballer has two daughters Luna and Isla from a previous relationship. Speaking to New magazine, Christine said: "I love children. If we were lucky enough it would be wonderful." Of her husband, she added: "He's a brilliant dad, hands-on with the school runs and homework. I've seen it and he's proved he's amazing. I've done a trial run and he's passed the test."
