Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez receives promotion fans have been waiting for following trial win

The Pirates of the Caribbean star won $15million

Johnny Depp emerged victorious last week in his defamation trial against Amber Heard, walking away with a $15million win.

And not only did the trial put his lawyer Camille Vasquez on the map, but it also propelled her to receiving some incredible news on the career front.

In a statement released by the Brown Rudnick law firm, Camille's home base, it was revealed that she had been promoted to the level of partner following her victory.

According to William Baldiga, chairman and CEO of Brown Rudnick, her headline-making performance in the courtroom solidified the position, saying: "We are delighted to welcome Camille to the partnership."

"Historically, we have reserved this announcement for the end of our fiscal year. But Camille's performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now. 

"We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner."

The trial lawyer also reacted to the news by stating: "I am delighted that Brown Rudnick has given me its full vote of confidence by having me join the partnership. 

"I'm proud of the uniquely talented team I've had the privilege to lead, which exemplified teamwork and collaboration, and I look forward to continuing to represent Brown Rudnick’s culture of excellence."

Following the announcement of the verdict in court, Camille was seen turning to those behind her and mouthed the word: "Wow," to them. The legal team also had a team hug following the case. 

The jury stated that Amber Heard defamed Johnny in her accusations, saying that the Aquaman star acted with "actual malice" with her claims.

The lawyer was instrumental in the Pirates of the Caribbean star's victory

Amber's lawyer Elaine Charlson Bredehoft revealed during an appearance on Today that her client will not be paying the $15m damages awarded to her ex-husband and will "absolutely" be appealing the verdict adding that, "She has some excellent grounds for it."
