America’s good girl has gone bad. Picking up the first trophy of the night at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, Jennifer Aniston was crowned Best On-screen Dirtbag for her role in Horrible Bosses.Rocking a one-shouldered leather dress, the Hollywood beauty headed up on stage to accept the award for her performance as sex-crazed dentist Julia Harris in the comedy.

She managed to beat competition from co-star Colin Farrell to become the first person to take the title, introduced this year to celebrate the silver screen’s deliciously despicable characters.Other nominees included Jon Hamm in Bridesmaids, Bryce Dallas Howard in The Help and Oliver Cooper in Project X.

Triumphantly raising her trophy, delighted Jen told the crowd: "Do you know how long I have tried to have somebody let me unleash my on-screen dirtbag? A really long time!"And thank god this category just popped up.

"So I would like to say thank you to the television show Friends for letting me unleash the inner sweetheart, and here’s to (director) Seth Gordon for allowing me to be a dirtbag."

It was a big night for hit film The Hunger Games.Star Jennifer Lawrence, 22, won the prestigious Best Female Performance award – accepted via a video link – and her co-star Josh Hutcherson was named Best Male.

The duo also scooped the best fight trophy, presented by Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender who came to blows before announcing the winner (pictured), while Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie Trinket, won Best On-Screen Transformation.

The movie did miss out on the best film award though, which went to Twilight for the fourth year in a row.

Hollywood heavyweight Johnny Depp was presented with the special Generation Award at the ceremony.

Clearly touched, he could be seen mouthing the word 'Wow' before joking with the crowd: "This is like the 'get out of the business' award!"
