With Liam Hemsworth's relationship with Miley Cyrus rarely out of the headlines, the actor's family decided to take action. According to US Weekly, Liam's big brothers, Chris and Luke, staged an intervention in an effort to convince him to split from the Hannah Montana star. Last month, the two eldest Hemsworth boys sat down with Liam, 23, to tell him how they felt about his troubled romance with Miley. "They want him to end the romance for good," a source said. It seems their words had an impact. Not long after the alleged meeting, reports emerged that Miley and Liam had halted their wedding plans. And while Miley, 20, continues to insists the couple are still together, Liam is said to be slowly distancing himself from his fiancee.

"Liam's pulling away," an insider told the magazine.Reports of Chris, 29, and Luke's disapproval comes after eldest sibling Luke publically praised Miley, saying she was already part of the family. "She's great. She loves our kids and our kids absolutely love her," Luke, 31, told Entertainment Weekly. "She won our hearts. "I find her really interesting. I find her very articulate and years in maturity above her age. But at the same time, she's very much like Liam. "In recent months, Miley and Liam have rarely been seen together. On Monday, Miley attended the star-studded Met Gala in New York on her own, and even when they are on their home turf, the couple spend time apart.

On 1 May, Miley attended an event at Beacher's Madhouse in Hollywood, while Liam chose to visit the Chateau Marmont, just a few streets away.

Recently Miley addressed the ongoing rumours of a split, saying that because of their work commitments they can't spend as much time together as they would like. "I'm not with my boyfriend all the time. We work," she said. "Every week it's, 'Are they broken up? Because we don't see a photo of them'. I don't have time to go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't. "The singer also said she has been prioritising her new album above everything else recently. "I've out this record before everything, and I've never done that with anything," she said. I've put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it."
