Lea’s appearance comes less than a week after she broke her silence on Twitter, writing, “Thank you all for helping my through this difficult time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.” She also posted a touching picture of herself and her late boyfriend in each other’s arms, smiling for the camera. This week, the grieving star will take another big step when she returns to work on Glee.

Lea is scheduled to join her co-stars back on the set of the hit musical show, where she first met Cory in 2009, as production on season five gets underway.

It was recently revealed that Glee’s tribute episode to Cory, which will air on 10 October, will deal directly with drug addiction.

Following the 31-year-old’s unexpected death on 13 July from a fatal heroin and alcohol overdose, fans had been left wondering what would happen to Cory’s character Finn Hudson.

Fox’s Chairman of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, has confirmed that the special episode will “deal directly with the incidents involved in Cory’s passing and the drug abuse in particular.

”Despite Cory’s relapse earlier this year, which forced the actor to enter rehab in June, Kevin said his death had come as a huge shock. “You see some people struggling with addiction, and it’s clear,” he said. “Cory was a big, open, wonderful life force. He was not a problem.”Kevin also took the time to praise Lea, calling her a “pillar of strength” following the tragedy. “She was the first one to say I want to get back to work,” he said
