Michael Douglas pays tribute to wife Catherine Zeta-Jones at Golden Globes

When Michael Douglas won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in Behind the Candelabra, the 69-year-old took the opportunity to thank his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, from whom he has recently reconciled after a "temporary break" in their 13-year marriage. "To Catherine, Carys, Cameron and Dylan – all my love," said a handsome tuxedo-clad Michael as he accepted the gong, also mentioning their two children as well as his son Cameron from his previous marriage.The Hollywood actor, who has additionally picked up an Emmy for the Liberace biopic, also paid tribute to "two people in particular".

Matt Damon, his co-star, was the first: "the bravest, talented actor I've ever worked with. And the only reason you're not here is...I had more sequins," he quipped. "Steven Soderbergh, what can I say?" Michael continued. "He's the director, he's the cameraman, he's also the editor. I want to thank him so much. "He also had a moment for his father, iconic actor Kirk Douglas. "And the monsieur, feel better man," he said, possibly referring to the 97-year-old. "Thank you very much. "Michael and wife Catherine look to be "on the up and up", as the multi-award-winning actor told chat host Jay Leno in November.

The couple rang in the New Year together on a family ski trip, after a trial separation of six months.

Michael shared two photos of his winter getaway and public reconciliation with Welsh beauty Catherine and their two children Dylan, 13 and ten-year-old Carys.

One snap showed the family of four posing on the piste with their ski poles held high in the air, while another was of the dad with his two children. "Happy New Year from Quebec, Canada... where it is minus 10F," read one of the photo captions on his Facebook page.
